Dogs Delight's grooming salon is run by two canine stylists. Mother and daughter Patricia Lalou and Julie Lalou (City and Guilds Qualified).

The Dogs Delight grooming salon is completely holistic. Only the finest natural and organic products are used. A complete range of services are available from basic bathing and grooming, to the more specialised scissoring and hand stripping. There are also walk-in appointments for small treatments such as nail clipping and brushing. We also offer a collection and delivery service if you are unable to make it to the salon. Prices start from £5 a vary according to distance.

The kind and relaxed atmosphere at Dogs Delight helps the experience to be as stress free as possible.

A pre booked appointment is necessary for all our services excluding walk-ins.

At every appointment you will have the opportunity to meet with your pet's stylist before the appointment to discuss your requirements. We can advise on a suitable style, but you have the last word. We aim to please!

 Grooming

The cats coat is its most admired feature. If it becomes matted it is important to have it groomed as soon as possible.

At Dogs Delight we specialise in cat grooming without sedation, working for short periods of time, guided by the cat's temperament and allowing for rest in between each session.

Most matts can be combed out but in the most severe cases, clipping off may be the only option.

Cat Grooming includes:

  • Total removal of matts
  • Nail clipping
  • Ear cleaning
  • Bathing (If absolutely necessary)

Whilst it is possible to groom most cats, if the cat is very aggressive or easily stressed we recommend sedated grooming by a vet.

Prices Start at £40.

Grooming fees vary according to size and the amount of work involved. For example, hand stripping is more time consuming than clipping and therefore more expensive.

A dog that comes into the salon as recommended every 6 weeks will be easier to groom than a dog that comes in very matted after a long period of time. Standard grooming fees include:

The price given is only an estimated price for an average breed standard pet with no significant coat problems. Larger than average pets and those pets which require additional time for de-matting will incur an additional charge of £5 for each 15 minutes.

At Dogs Delight we specialise in Hand-stripping. This method of grooming is carried out less and less in pet grooming salons as a result of time restrictions or a lack of good training.

The technique involves pulling out the dead top coat to leave a more natural look then clipping. It should be carried out on breeds with wire coats to maintain the correct coat texture and colour. Dogs should be stripped every 12 weeks.

Tarter Removal

Tartar removal is now available from £10. This service is not possible on dogs where tartar accumulation has led to gum disease and tooth decay. Such cases should consult with a vet.
